Melania Trump, the first lady of the United States, haven’t been seen in public for 25 days already. For the American society, it is weird because they’re used to their first ladies appearing here and there rather often. They are always doing something – participating in campaigns, speaking in public, meeting with somebody, doing charity, and so on. What’s with Melania? Is she OK?
We saw so much happen this past week but one thing we didn't see – first lady Melania Trump. Because as of the time we are taping this show right now, the first lady has not been seen in public for 25 days. I'm not surprised, it took that Shawshank guy years to tunnel out.
Here's the deal. Last month, as we all know, the first lady underwent what they called minor surgery. They say she is perfectly fine and I certainly hope that's true. And they claim she came home to the White House.
Trump even welcomed her back in a tweet, in which he accidentally called her Melanie. Awkward. Could you imagine if he called her the wrong name in bed? She might hear it from down the hall.
The first lady responded to speculation on her whereabouts last week on the FLOTUS twitter account. Okay, it's been awhile, let me get into my Melania accent.
“I see the media is working overtime speculating where I am & what I’m doing. Rest assured, I’m here at the @WhiteHouse with my family, feeling great & working hard on behalf of children & the American people!”
Okay, I have my doubts that Melania wrote that. For one thing, Michelle Obama never said it in a speech.
This is just weird. We're used to our first ladies being out and about. Nancy Reagan was always out there telling kids to just say “no”. Michelle Obama would sometimes just show up in people’s living rooms and tell them to drop and give her 20. Even Martha Washington had more pictures of herself. And remember, back then the paparazzi were oil painters, “Hold still, Mrs. Washington. Just one more, darling. Over here! Are you pregnant with John Adams’ baby? Come on!”
Now, Melania’s supposedly reemerging to attend an event in the White House tonight but who can be sure? Because the event will be closed to the press. But the White House did release this official photo proving the first lady was totally there. I got to say, she cleans up nice.
