I’m Jane Goodall, otherwise known as Doctor Jane Goodall, and I’m here to talk about the importance of Earth Day and the kind of message that I would like to give to the citizens of the world.

I think I was born loving animals, my whole childhood really was animals animals animals.

There was one moment when I was in Gombe National Park and it began to pour rain, and then the rain stopped and I could smell the smell of wet hair on the chimpanzees and I could hear the insects singing loudly, and I just felt absolutely at one and it was a sense of awe and wonder.

Out in the rainforest you learn how everything is interconnected and each little species, even though it may seem insignificant, has a role to play in this tapestry of life.

What better day than earth day to really make a determined effort to live lives in better harmony with nature.

Every single individual matters, every single individual makes some impact on the planet every single day and we have a choice as to what kind of difference we are going to make.
