There is a chance that the Silver Surfer and many new characters will appear in “Avengers: Infinity War”. For now, fans keep their fingers crossed and hope for the best. It is a big intrigue, whether we’ll see the Silver Surfer in the next movie or not.
So, mentions of Silver Surfer in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) pretty much started ever before the original Avengers came out. There's always been some sort of rumor with these big films that we're going to see some sort of introduction or mention of the character. Of course, all of this stems back to those early negotiations between Fox and, of course, a Disney to be able to acquire a character but nothing has really come out of that, up until Disney actually fully acquires Fox in the middle of next year.
But for last couple of months, there's been a few rumors, things, and different quote sources that have come out stating that Silver Surfer will, in fact, be in the film. Well, recently, Joe and Anthony Russo, the brothers that co-directed “Avengers: Infinity War” actually talked about that exact concept and Silver Surfer in the MCU. And this is what Joe Russo had to say, “I don't think we own Silver Surfer but it's a fan wish fulfillment and, you know, if this Disney Fox deal goes through, then we're going to have a lot more characters coming into the Marvel Universe”.
So, some of those crazy fan theories might come true. I think let's just believe them at face value. Silver Surfer’s not in the movie but it's a rumor that's persisted and, like they say, you know, they've heard crazy things and it's one of these things that the fans want. When a rumor hits or an actor does something raughly and audience starts teasing it, it obviously makes the rounds. But, like they say, for right now, they have what they have – they have this complete universe that they've been telling for the last 10 years, and that's going to be the wrap-up of that.
But, as they're hinting right there in that quote, when this whole deal goes through, then they're going to have the ability to use all of these characters. And then, we're probably going to see them – it's just not going to be before that. So, it's only a matter of time and not a matter of if we're going to get it, but a matter of when. And that's, honestly, the best way they could say it because, let's be real, if the Silver Surfer somehow already got acquired by them, I think we would have known a little earlier than this, because it would have been one of those victory lap things.
