That ever lasting question, if vaping and e-cigs cause harm to your health or not? This problem is especially important for parents because today, more and more teenagers and youth exchange cigarettes for e-cigs. But is vaping really much better than smoking?

Hey everyone its Anastasia
Anastasia's Hump Day Happenings in this week studies
were shown as to what is in a seek vapor
parents health care professionals this
is for you because it's really important
that we target our teens and start a
conversation with them regarding health
empowerment and what is in a cig vapor
and how it's harmful if you are an adult
and you're choosing to vape regarding
getting away from nicotine cheers to you
from releasing yourself of slavery of
addiction to nicotine that's awesome
but let's start with the study the
studies were done at John Hopkins
University and environmental health
perspective I'll include those links
within the description of this video
they studied over 56 devices and what
they found was depending upon the device
vapor inhaled led was has more than 25
times the amount of lead that was
considered safe vapor inhaled lead so I
thought what does inhaled lead do to the
body long-term if you ask that question
you're with me so I went on to the cdc
site and this is what I found
inhaled led long-term it attacks your
brain attacks your central nervous
system your kidneys your liver bones
teeth in fact if you're pregnant it has
the ability to lay dormant in our system
become active cross the placental
barrier and cause brain damage to your
unborn child it has been associated with
miscarriages and it's been associated
with infertility in both men and women
why go there I'll tell you why
60% of teenagers don't view vaping as
harmful they think it's not as bad as
traditional cigarette smoking at least
it's not a cigarette I totally
understand you know why because 85%
between the ages of 12 and 17 are using
vaping because of the flavors from
bubblegum and cotton candy and mango and
strawberry you name it I gotta tell you
it's pretty tempting it's almost like
taking a starburst liquefying it down
now I'm there's food additives
and their sugar and Starbucks but if you
took this or a candy like that with all
of these varieties of flavors and you're
made into a vapor and then you added
toxic metals that's what working that's
what is offered to the teens what other
toxic metals besides of lead are in a
vapor chromium and nickel which have
been associated with respiratory disease
and then of course the poison arsenic
which has been triggered it's been
associated with triggering cancer and
other health ailments outside of that
let's just toss in the addictive
substance of nicotine from the time
you're in the womb of your mother until
age 25 your brain is still developing
and in fact nicotine has the power to
impact your brain by triggering anxiety
depression affecting your ability to
learn focus or have attention some of
these a juices have nicotine in them
especially jewel they believe it's 5%
per weight and it's important to
understand the variety that is offered
to them the time is now to have the
conversation regarding how this can
potentially impact our young adults for
their future let me know if this at
least enlightened you a little bit.
