We're starting with the meatloaf, Okay.
We start with three pounds of ground turkey.
And this is sauteed bell peppers, red onions, garlic, and thyme, basil, and oregano.
Yum. And then, we saute it first to open up all the flavor in there, and then we get it in the raw meat...
Sweat it out. Sweat it out.

Sweat it out. You want a little S and P?
Little salt, pepper on the meat?
Yes, yes, salt me up, and then...
Salt and pepper's here.
And then we put...
I wish Salt-n-Pepa were here; they're fun.
I know, so much.
Now that's a good time.
Then this is a little secret that our mom does.
You put the tomato paste in the turkey.
In the meatloaf!
In the meatloaf.
And then you stir it all up.
I'm going to get started on my mashed potatoes.
We use red potatoes, and we keep the skins on them.
I'm going to put a little bit of milk in here, which I've already put a little bit more.
And a little bit of...
You want a little bit of butter?
A couple of pads of butter?
I love my butter.
Alright well do a lot of butter then.
Give me a lot of butter.
Butter!
Yeah!
Yes girl, yes more butter.
A little salt and pepper for me too please.
A little salt and pepper, yes ma'am.
Alright so now what?
We get that into the pan.
This guy goes in there.
It goes in there.
Let's just say we did that.
We did that.
We did that.
It's done.
And then this gets in the oven for 375 F for about 40 minutes.
I see, so you par-bake the meat part.
Right, and then you'll potato it.
And then you potato it.
Potato this.
Come on, get that goodness.
Just slap it on.
I think it's brilliant though rest assured
I'm gonna rip that off and do it a lot.
And then we start working on our sauce, so I've got some tomato paste, some water.
I'm a put some granulated garlic in here, olive oil.
A little olive oil.
Yes.
We're gonna just pour this on top.
You gone slather, can I slather?
Please slather.
I've always wanted to see Rachel slather.
Slather.
Oh!
That slather!
That goes back into the oven for about 15 minutes.
And then should we show them this one?
Yes.
OK.
Voila!
Alright!
You got meat and potatoes.
Meat and potatoes!
Take it away.
What are we moving on to?
So we make a rhubarb pie.
So we put in some rhubarb, strawberries, vanilla extract.
Get a good pure of vanilla extract.
Some dark brown sugar and some cinnamon, and then put a little bit of cornstarch to thicken it up.
Just to thicken it up.
Get the pecking going.
Exactly.
And so this is what it ends up as.
It's almost like a really thick jam.
Mommy will always poke the holes in the pie crust.
Thank you.
Mommy will kick your butt.
No I ain't got nothing to do,
but you're going to let me poke these holes.
No sibling rivalry here.
Are we laying this?
Yeah, we're doing a nice pretty lattice crust.
Really cause it's so beautiful.
Oh, a lattice crust.
Yeah.
And the lattice crust is done.
Ta-da!
So we're gonna do an egg wash.
This is in the book as well.
The perfect pie crust and it's really super simple.
Look at that slice!
So while they're talking I've dished myself up a piece of pie.
