Hello, everyone. Today’s video is gonna be all about fashion trends of 2018. This video is geared more toward spring and summer. A lot of these items you may already have in your closet. These are very wearable items. Some may be a little scary to you but I feel like a lot of these are really fun items that you might actually end up liking. So, a lot of these trends I talk about, usually, come back around spring and summer but, a lot of times every year, they come back in new ways.
Pastels
So, the first fashion trend I want to talk about is Pastels. Every time I see pastels, it can get so pretty – I just want to go out and buy a bunch of them. Pastels are kind of fine. Spring-time, around Easter time pastels come out, and it’s just so beautiful. The one pastel item that I have is just this sweat-shirt. I love it so much, I love the color. I feel like a lot of you may already have a bunch of pastels in your closet. So, definitely bust it out for this spring and summer.
Utility items
The next spring trend that always comes back around this time, that I absolutely love – I always seem to gravitate towards this trend – is Utility. There’s bunch of different ways you can pull off this look: you can do it like cargo jacket, you can wear some cargo pants that are camouflaged. Camouflaged definitely falls under that utility category. This is my utility jacket or camouflaged jacket. I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about this trend that gives up a masculine vibe, but you can also feminine it up by wearing tighter clothing underneath something like this. It’s also just the darker colors that we associate with the utility trend, that makes it really pretty: the yellow-greens, the khaki, and the neutral tones that you can play with it.
Straight Leg Jeans
All right, next trend I talk about all the time, you may see a lot of bloggers wearing it. If you went shopping recently, you may see this trend everywhere. It is the Straight Leg Jeans. I say this all the time but I feel like this straight leg is a new skinny. The skinny will always be around but I think this is a new way to play up your jeans. If you’re afraid to try this trend, just buy one inexpensive pair and start learning how to dress it up. I think it’s fun, I think it’s fresh. You’re definitely going to see this everywhere.
Suit Set
Next trend I want to talk about is the Suit Set. Now, you may have seen a lot of bloggers wear this one as well. I have one but it’s a shorts suit set. This one is from Vichi collection. It is this linen material, blue and white striped. And it comes with a matching blazer. And I love this one so much, I think it’s perfect for California, with the warm weather. My matching suit set is super slick, I love it. And it’s coming back in really fun colors and a lot of print as well. It’s a very bold look but don’t be afraid to try it out. I think it’s really fun.
Linen
This one I mentioned was a linen material but, speaking of linen, that is the next trend I want to mention. I have this linen shirt that I got from Zara. Linen is another trend for this spring and summer. You may already know this, if you’ve gone shopping recently. There are a lot of dresses with those nice big brown buttons, that are made of linen. It’s just a really nice breathable material that I feel people tend to wear more once it starts to get hotter. It’s also really chic and classic. It’s always been around. But then again, as I said, a lot of times during spring and summer hotter months, this is when people bust it out more. I always think of Miami when I think of linen. And there are a lot of fine ways that you can dress linen up.
Bold Colors
Next trend is Bold Colors. Now, I feel like a lot of people may be afraid of wearing bold colors but there is a bunch of different ways you can tone it down. Reds and yellows are two really big colors this spring and summer. I have this blazer, and that’s a really pretty yellow from Zara. I like that it has these nice big brown buttons on it. I also have this red off-the-shoulder dress. I feel like if you’re able to wear these bold colors, you give off such confidence. And they’re really great statement pieces to add to your closet.
Trench Coat
Okay, next trend I want to talk about is the Trench Coat. We move away from the heavier coats, and when we go into springtime, we tend to go out in our trench coats because they are a lot thinner but still can keep you warm. This one is really pretty. Brighter spring color – I guess, this is also a pastel color. I love this one so much because of the color. Trench coats kind of give me that same kind of vibe that the utility does. I feel like it’s very sophisticated, very New York, very sleek. You can wear trench coats over pretty much anything – dressed up, dressed down, over work clothes, over casual jeans and T-shirts.
Sneakers
The next trend I want to talk about are Sneakers. Now, you may see a bunch of those belong to ugo seekers, those really bulky ones. I know Kim Kardashian wears them all the time. I don’t personally like those, I don’t ever see myself wearing those big, bulky, old-school ones. But a lot of that is coming back and I think sneakers in general are just making a big comeback. A lot of times, you’ll see some pictures of girls wearing dresses with sneakers, wearing just really feminine flirty items with the sneakers. I’m just gonna stick to my classic white sneakers. When it comes to sneakers, you can definitely, like I mentioned earlier, dress it up, dress it down, have fun with that. You can do it in so many different ways.
Sequins
Now, another trend that people seem to be able to wear at all times of the day, doesn’t matter if it’s daytime or nighttime, people are incorporating this style into their daily outfit is the Sequins or just sparkly outfits in general. I’ve seen women wear sequined camisoles with a blazer and jeans, and it doesn’t look too crazy or too dressy. It kind of just looks like something that you’re supposed to wear during the daytime. I have this blazer. I definitely think that I could wear this out because it’s black. It’s still a little toned down, it does have that sparkly sequin element to it, but it’s not something too colorful. Like, the colorful sequins are anything too loud and crazy. I can definitely wear this day and night. I could wear this to an event, but I think, if you have sequins in your closet, you should definitely try it. It’s such a fun trend.
Prints
Moving on to the next trend, it’s Prints. Now, prints are something, again, you usually stray away from during winter months, and then you start to bringing them back out during the spring and summer time. Prints like florals are just so springy and then polka dots are also making such a huge comeback. Polka dots can also be considered really 80s. And 80s style is another big trend that is making the biggest comeback ever. I see women wearing a lot of 80s inspired track suits and things like that. But florals and polka dots and prints like this are definitely a trend to wear.
Check
The last one in the list is the Check. Now, we have seen the check blazer come out and be super-super popular. They’re still around. I’ve been seeing a lot of yellow and black check inspired outfit in two pieces, in dresses. That yellow one specifically is a little more daring but you can definitely again tone it down by maybe not going with yellow. For example, this is just a black and white check blazer. This one is nice and muted and sleek, and something that is super-wearable, something that you can wear all the time. This can easily become a staple in your closet.
